Things You Can Do:

| Physical: Lifts head up briefly when on belly |
- Place your infant on their belly, at times, when they are awake |
| Hand Skills: Grasps small object if placed in hand |
- Place a small rattle in your infant’s hand |
| Language: Makes sounds such as cooing |
- Watch and see if your baby reacts to sounds
- Speak to him/her in a pleasant voice |
| Cognition: Follows moving objects with eyes; appears to stare at times |
- Hang a mobile two feet in front of your infant
- Let him/her watch people and activities
- Move him/her from room to room |
| Social: Smiles when played with |
-Smile and talk softly while holding and touching your infant
- Your infant needs as much contact with you as possible |
